Delivering his speech at the inauguration, the minister of state for Health and social welfare, Dr. Iziaq kunle Salako hail the Association of professional plumbers of Nigeria (APPN) for putting up this laudable project towards Building a national Training center in Abuja
He emphasized that developing professional with the handiwork of plumbers, carpenters, Tillers are the priority of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda, who has developed a program that made technical and professional education free, basically to develop and improve our own local capacity, to be able to do things on our own.
According to him ” Before now, if you need plumbers and Tillers, sometimes you need to go to Benin Republic or outside our borders, the president has said enough is enough, we must be able to develop our people, to be able to serve us”
Salako said he decided to partner with plumbers because of the important roles they play on the maintenance of our public health ” if you do not have good water properly piped and delivered to your homes, which is a core function of plumbers, then we would be battling with a lots of infection diseases, if we are talking of outbreak of polio, outbreak of cholera, outbreak of typhoid, most of the time is as a result of poor water we are drinking.
He maintained that infection diseases can be reduced to the nearest minimum, if clean waters are made available to Nigerians. He charged them to do their work properly, get trained properly, ensure they delivered wherever they are needed in the society, and make sure they stand by Nigeria in showing love, patriotism and loyalty.
